Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diabetes melitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang membutuhkan kepatuhan tinggi dalam perawatan diri (selfcare). Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepatuhan tersebut adalah dukungan keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan perawatan diri pada pasien diabetes melitus berdasarkan teori selfcare Orem di RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan Pekalongan. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah analitik korelatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Jumlah responden sebanyak 92 orang yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner yang terdiri dari dua variabel: dukungan keluarga dan kepatuhan perawatan diri. Hasil: Hasil analisis bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-Square menunjukkan nilai p-value sebesar 0,000 (p < 0,05) Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kepatuhan perawatan diri pada pasien diabetes melitus berdasarkan teori selfcare Orem di RSI PKU Muhammadiyah Pekajangan Pekalongan.
