Abstract
Tourniquet is a medical device that functions to hold blood flow by pressing and releasing it for a certain time. Pressure is applied in a circle around a limb such as an arm or leg. The author has made orthopedic surgery tools, namely Arduino Uno-Based Digital Tourniquet Modeling Equipped with Over Pressure Safety, to make it easier for users to carry out the operation process, especially orthopedic surgery. Arduino Uno-based Digital Tourniquet is equipped with Over Pressure safety, with a mini dc pump controlled by a microcontroller system. The mini dc pump itself is a device that produces air pressure which is monitored by the MPX5050GP sensor with a minimum pressure of 20 mmHg and a maximum of 250 mmHg, then the result of the pressure will press the cuff that is wrapped around the object part of the arm. After we planned the Arduino Uno-Based Digital Tourniquet module and circuit equipped with Over Pressure safety, this was successfully made with the pressure sensor reading value against the pressure setting point having a good accuracy of 97.84%.
