Abstract

Hot and cold water therapy is an effort process to restore the health of sick people by using hot and cold water media which aims to eliminate, change or reduce the existing symptoms to achieve healing. This tool is used for cold and hot water therapy by changing the temperature in a tank filled with water. Cold water immersion therapy using a minimum temperature of 15oC and hot water immersion using a maximum temperature of 50oC. Heat therapy (thermotherapy) is recommended to treat injuries, while cold therapy (cold therapy) in its use can overcome the problem of more damaged body tissues and can improve muscle endurance and the perception of muscle pain. The hot and cold water therapy device in this paper is designed with an Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller controller. The way the tool works is to insert the patient's feet into a tank filled with water. Haeter is used as a heating element, while Peltier is used as an active cooling element alternately. The DS18B20 temperature sensor which is connected to the tank provides the results of the measurement of the water temperature in the tank which is then displayed by the LCD. Based on the results of the experiment, the hot and cold water therapy equipment is feasible to use because the system has been running as expected, namely the microcontroller is able to control the entire circuit and the DS18B20 sensor is able to detect any temperature changes in the heater and peltier continuously with stablel with an accuracy percentage of 98.6% and the percentage of timer accuracy is 98.85 %
